The Most Popular Types of Heavy Duty Pallet Rack Systems

There are many different types available; however, a few have emerged as the most popular type of heavy duty pallet rack systems for high-density storage.

If you’re using a last-in, last-out (LIFO) storage system and need to conserve aisle space, then a drive-in rack may be ideal. This type of racking can be driven into or through with a forklift, allowing for higher density storage with fewer aisles. Push back racking is another popular LIFO storage solution. In this configuration, pallets are placed on rollers, so when a new pallet is stored, the old ones are moved deeper into the rack.

For first-in, first-out (FIFO) storage, a flow rack may be ideal. These heavy duty pallet rack systems use rollers to move items from a high position (where they are stored) to a low position where they can be picked with a forklift.
